Setup guide & documentation
1. Install the plugin
- Download the plugin zip from your purchase email. Its name includes the version, for example
grimm-inventory-2.0.3.zip. Don't unzip it: WordPress installs the whole zip, which holds onegrimm-inventoryfolder. - In WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip and click Install Now, then Activate.
- A new Grimm Inventory menu appears in your dashboard, and a page called Current Items For Sale is created for you.
Updating? Once your license is active, updates install with one click from your dashboard. You can also upload a new zip the same way and click Replace current with uploaded. Your items and settings are always kept.
Need a WordPress site first? Grimm Inventory is a WordPress plugin, so WordPress must already be installed. No site yet? Install WordPress with your host's one-click installer, then add Grimm Inventory: on a brand-new site the built-in Studio walkthrough sets up your whole store.
Activate your license
- Go to Grimm Inventory → License.
- Paste the license key from your purchase email (it starts with
GRIM-) and click Activate. - That's it. Updates now appear in Dashboard → Updates and on your Plugins screen like any other plugin, free for life.
Each key works on one live website at a time. To move it, click Deactivate on the old site, then activate it on the new one. Test copies of your site (localhost, .local, .test, staging. or dev. addresses) don't use up your license. You can try everything free for 14 days before entering a key, and your public site always keeps showing your items, key or not.
Accounts you'll need (and which are optional)
Grimm Inventory works on its own with just WordPress. Each marketplace or social feature you switch on needs that platform's own account. All of them are free to open.
| Feature | What you need | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory, For Sale page, carousel, events, reviews, News | Nothing extra | Works right after you activate the plugin. |
| eBay posting & stock sync | An eBay seller account | No eBay developer account needed: it connects through the Grimm Forge connection service with your license. |
| Etsy posting & stock sync | An Etsy shop | No Etsy developer account needed (same connection service). You can also use your own Etsy app keys. |
| Facebook Marketplace (Quick Post) & Facebook Shop | A Facebook account; for Facebook Shop, a Facebook Page and Commerce Manager | Facebook doesn't let any app post Marketplace listings for you, so Quick Post copies everything in a few clicks. |
| Sharing News to a Facebook Page | A Facebook Page for your business (not a personal profile) and a free Meta developer app | About 10 minutes, one time. See News & social sharing. |
| Sharing to Instagram | An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator, a free switch in the Instagram app) linked to your Facebook Page | Uses the same Meta app as Facebook. |
| Sending posts to TikTok | A TikTok account and a free TikTok for Developers app | Posts arrive in your TikTok inbox as drafts. A regular account works; you don't have to switch it to a business account. |
| Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Craigslist, Nextdoor (Quick Post) | A free account on each site you use | No apps or keys. Switch them on under Settings → More marketplaces. See More marketplaces. |
| TikTok Shop (beta) | An approved TikTok Shop seller account and a free TikTok Shop Partner Center app | A TikTok Shop seller account is separate from your TikTok account. In the US you can sign up as an Individual with your Social Security number; you only need an EIN and business documents if you register as a business. Approval usually takes a few days. |
2. Check the settings
Go to Grimm Inventory → Settings. Everything has a sensible default, but take a minute to set:
- Footer credit: a small "This site uses Grimm Inventory System" link at the very bottom of your pages, on by default. Untick it under Look → Footer credit to hide it.
- Accent color: used for prices, badges and buttons so the plugin matches your brand. Fonts always come from your theme.
- Sold out items: keep showing them with a "Sold out" badge (good for showing off past work) or hide them, plus a message like "Want one? Ask about a custom order" that links to your contact page.
- Stock display: show "3 available" or just "Available", and when to show "Only 2 left".
- Quick Post: a note added to every description you copy (shipping times, returns, custom orders) and an optional link back to your site.
- More marketplaces: tick Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Craigslist or Nextdoor to add them to Quick Post and Where to Buy (see More marketplaces).
- Your shops: links to your eBay, Etsy and Facebook shop pages, shown under your For Sale grid.
- Currency for visitors: optional "Prices in" menu so visitors from other countries see your prices in their own money (see Visitor currency).
Selling on eBay, Etsy or TikTok Shop? Set those up next under Grimm Inventory → Marketplaces (see Connect eBay, Connect Etsy and TikTok Shop). More marketplaces are coming soon.
3. Add the For Sale page to your menu
- Go to Appearance → Menus (or Appearance → Editor → Navigation on block themes).
- Tick Current Items For Sale under Pages and click Add to Menu. Rename the menu label if you like ("Shop", "Current Stock"…).
- Click Save Menu.
Want the grid somewhere else? Put the [grimm_inventory] shortcode on any page.
4. Add your first item
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Add Item For Sale.
- Type the item name, then fill in Price & Stock: price, shipping (0 means free shipping, blank hides it) and how many you have.
- Set a Main photo in the right-hand column. This is the picture used on cards and in the carousel.
- Under Photos & Videos, click Add photos / videos to add more. Drag thumbnails to change the order.
- Write a description in the Description box.
- Optional: pick a category (Figures, Signs, Décor…). Categories become filter buttons on your For Sale page.
- Click Publish.
5. Add "where to buy" links
In the Where to Buy box, tick each marketplace the item is listed on and paste the listing link. If an item costs more on one site (to cover fees, say), enter that site's price and shipping; leave them blank to use the normal price. Use Add another link for anything else (your own shop, a craft-fair page, a 3D-file store).
Visitors see a big button for each site on the item's page.
6. Post to Facebook Marketplace, eBay and Etsy
Every item has a Quick Post to Marketplaces box with a tab for each site:
- Click Download all photos (.zip). You get every photo full size, numbered in order with the main photo first.
- Click Open … listing form. The marketplace opens in a new tab.
- Click Copy next to the title, then paste it into the marketplace. Do the same for price, shipping and description. On eBay (80 characters) and Etsy (140) the title shows a character count and warns you if it's too long.
- Drag the photos in, pick the category and condition, and publish on the marketplace.
- Copy the new listing's link and paste it into After posting, paste the new listing link here. Grimm Inventory fills in Where to Buy for you. Click Update.
Switched on more marketplaces (Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Craigslist, Nextdoor)? They get their own tabs here too; see More marketplaces.
Connected to eBay, Etsy or TikTok Shop? You can also post to those straight from WordPress instead (see Connect eBay, Connect Etsy and TikTok Shop).
Why not post to Facebook automatically? Facebook doesn't let any outside app create Marketplace listings for personal sellers. Quick Post is the fastest legitimate way.
7. Add videos
In Photos & Videos → Video links, paste a link from YouTube (Shorts work too), TikTok or Vimeo and click Add video. The plugin checks the link and shows its thumbnail. Videos play right on the item page and don't use your hosting space. Links from sites that don't allow embedding (like Instagram) become a "Watch video" button.
You can also upload video files with Add photos / videos, but large videos fill up hosting space quickly.
8. When something sells
- On eBay, Etsy or TikTok Shop (connected): nothing to do. Grimm Inventory checks for new orders every 10 minutes, lowers your stock, updates the other marketplaces and records the sale.
- On Facebook or in person: in the item's Quick Post box, click Sold one on Facebook (−1), or in Grimm Inventory → All Items hover over the stock number and click −1. eBay, Etsy and TikTok Shop are updated for you.
- At 0 the item shows Sold out everywhere on your site. The eBay listing is set to 0 (or ended, if you chose that) and the Etsy listing is paused. Restock and they come back.
- Each item keeps a Stock History of every change, including which site it came from.
The All Items screen shows totals at the top: items, units in stock, stock value and how many are sold out.
9. Rotating display (carousel)
Show your items as a rotating slideshow on your homepage or in a sidebar. Clicking a slide opens the item's page.
- Block editor: add the Grimm Inventory Carousel block. Settings in the sidebar: how many items, seconds per slide, image shape, category, featured only, show title/price, include sold out.
- Widgets: add the Grimm Inventory Carousel widget under Appearance → Widgets.
- Anywhere else: use the shortcode
[grimm_inventory_carousel].
To hand-pick what appears, tick Feature in the homepage carousel on those items and set the carousel to featured only.
10. Duplicate similar items
Selling the same design in different colors or sizes? In All Items, hover over an item and click Duplicate. You get a draft copy with the same photos, price, description and categories, ready to tweak. Listing links are cleared because it's a new listing.
11. Sales history
Every time you click Sold one on… in Quick Post (or −1 in the item list) the sale is saved with the date, the site and the price. Open Grimm Inventory → Sales History to see:
- Items sold and the sales total, plus a breakdown per marketplace.
- Filters by date range and by site.
- Record a sale by hand for in-person or craft-fair sales (and optionally lower the stock at the same time).
- Download CSV for your spreadsheet, bookkeeping or taxes.
12. Relist reminders
Grimm Inventory remembers when each listing link was added. When a Facebook listing is older than 7 days (change this in Settings → Relist reminders), it appears in the Listings to renew box on your WordPress Dashboard and at the top of All Items. Click Open listing, renew or repost it on Facebook, then click Renewed ✓ to restart the clock. You can also turn on a daily reminder email, and set reminders for eBay, Etsy and any extra marketplaces you've switched on (handy for Craigslist, where posts expire).
13. Photo resizing and watermark
- Go to Settings → Photos for marketplaces.
- Resize: photos you download through Quick Post are shrunk to 2000px on the longest side (good for every marketplace and faster to upload). Set 0 to keep full size.
- Watermark logo: choose your logo (a PNG with a transparent background works best), then pick the corner, size and opacity.
- Quick Post now has a Download with watermark button next to the normal download.
Your original photos and the photos on your own site are never changed.
14. Saved Etsy tags
Go to Grimm Inventory → Categories, edit a category and fill in Etsy tags (comma separated, up to 13). In Quick Post's Etsy tab, the Tags field fills itself in from the item's category with a counter that warns you about more than 13 tags or tags over 20 characters. Type tags into the item's own Tags box to override them for just that item.
15. Import your Facebook Marketplace listings
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Import from Facebook.
- Drag the Copy to Grimm Inventory button onto your browser's bookmarks bar (one time only).
- Open one of your listings on Facebook Marketplace and click that bookmark. The import page opens with the title, price, description and photos filled in.
- Check everything, choose a category and click Import listing. The item is created with its photos and its Facebook link already in Where to Buy, ready to Quick Post to eBay or Etsy.
Facebook doesn't offer a way for apps to read Marketplace listings, so the bookmark reads the page you're looking at, just like copying and pasting. Facebook changes its pages often; if anything comes through blank, type it in. The form works on its own too.
16. Events calendar
Selling at craft fairs, vendor markets or pop-ups? Let people know where to find you.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Events and click Add Event.
- Fill in the first and last day, opening and closing times, venue, address, booth number, admission and what you'll have there. Add a flyer or photo as the event image, and anything else in the description.
- Click Publish.
- Show your events with the Grimm Inventory Events block (a month calendar with event days highlighted, plus a list), the
[grimm_events]shortcode, or the widget.
Each event gets its own page with the schedule, booth number, a map, Get directions, one-click Google Calendar links for each day and an Add to my calendar file for Apple and Outlook calendars. Events drop off the calendar automatically when they're over.
Reminder popup: in the days before an event (5 by default), visitors see your flyer (the event's Event photo or flyer image) in a popup, a few seconds after the page opens and at most once a day. Only the soonest event is shown, it says "We're here today!" while the event is on, and events without a flyer get a simple card with the name, date and place. Visitors can choose Don't show this event again or No event popups for me (handy for people who aren't local). Change the number of days, the delay and the heading, or switch it off, under Settings → Events; switch it off for one event in that event's Reminder popup box, which also has a Preview the popup link.
17. Connect eBay
- Activate your license first (Activate your license). The eBay connection runs through the Grimm Forge connection service, so you don't need an eBay developer account.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Marketplaces → eBay, tick Use eBay with Grimm Inventory and click Save.
- Fill in Listing defaults: how many business days you take to ship, the shipping service, returns, your brand name, and Ships from city, state and ZIP (only these are sent to eBay, never your street address). Click Save.
- Click Connect to eBay, sign in on eBay's own page and click Agree. You come back to WordPress connected. Grimm Inventory sets up your eBay payment, return and shipping policies for you.
Posting an item: open the item and find the eBay box. Click Suggest categories, pick one, fill in any required item specifics (marked *), and click Save & post to eBay. Price, quantity, photos and description come from the item; shipping is charged at exactly the price you set (or eBay's own "Shipping there" in Where to Buy). Change the item later and click Save & update eBay listing.
Grimm Inventory checks everything before anything goes to eBay (price, shipping, photos, category, your minimum) and reads the listing back afterwards to make sure eBay saved the right price and shipping.
18. Connect Etsy
- With your license active, go to Grimm Inventory → Marketplaces → Etsy, tick Use Etsy with Grimm Inventory and click Save.
- Fill in Listing defaults: who made it, when it was made, processing time (for example made to order, 3 to 7 days), returns (none, exchanges only, or returns and exchanges), your Ships from ZIP code and delivery time. Choose whether new listings go live straight away or are saved as Etsy drafts so you can check them first. Click Save.
- Click Connect to Etsy, sign in on Etsy's page and click Allow access. Grimm Inventory finds or creates the matching Etsy processing profile and return policy.
Posting an item: open the item and find the Etsy box. Type a word (sign, wall decor, skull…) and click Find to pick an Etsy category. Tags come from the item's Etsy tags (in Quick Post) or its category's saved tags. Add materials if you like, then click Save & post to Etsy. Grimm Inventory makes one Etsy shipping profile for each shipping price you use, so buyers pay exactly what you set.
- Draft or live: drafts don't cost anything until you publish them. Tick Publish it on Etsy now on the item (or publish on Etsy) when you're happy. Etsy charges its usual listing fee when a listing goes live or renews.
- Updates: change the price, title, description, tags or shipping and click Save & update Etsy listing. Tick Also replace the photos to send new photos.
- Sold out: Etsy can't show a listing with 0 in stock, so Grimm Inventory pauses it and turns it back on when you restock (switch this off under Back in stock if you'd rather do it yourself).
- Reviews: your Etsy reviews (the ones with words) and your Etsy star rating are copied into the reviews strip every day. Click Copy Etsy reviews now to do it straight away.
19. Import your eBay and Etsy listings
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Marketplaces → Import listings and click Show my eBay listings or Show my Etsy listings.
- Tick the listings you want. Under Add as, leave A new item, or pick an item you already have (for example one you imported from Facebook) to link them instead of making a copy. Matching titles are picked for you.
- Choose whether new items show on your site straight away, a category for them, and for linked items which quantity is right.
- Click Import selected listings. Photos, price, shipping, quantity, description, tags and category are copied. Up to 10 at a time works best.
Nothing is changed on eBay or Etsy by importing. From then on, stock stays in sync. Listings imported from eBay keep their quantity and price in sync too; edit their title, photos and description on eBay.
20. Profit, fees and your minimum price
Each item has a Shipping & Profit box. Fill in the package weight and box size, what the label costs you, and I want to receive at least. The table shows what you actually take home on eBay, Etsy and Facebook after each site's fees and the label, flags anything under your minimum, and suggests a price for each site. Click Use suggested prices on each site to put them in Where to Buy. Fees are set under Marketplaces → Profit & fees (October 2026 US rates; change them if yours are different).
21. Low-stock emails
Under Marketplaces → Low stock alerts, choose how many left should trigger an email (2, 5, 10…), whether to also get one when something sells out, and who gets them. Each item can use its own number in its Shipping & Profit box (0 = never for that item). You get one email when it drops to that number, not one for every sale after.
22. Customer reviews
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Import Reviews. Drag the bookmark button to your bookmarks bar, open your Facebook Marketplace seller profile's reviews and click the bookmark. Pick the reviews to copy and click Import these reviews.
- Etsy reviews copy themselves once Etsy is connected. For eBay, paste your feedback link and rating in the Review sources table.
- Choose where the strip shows (above the footer on every page, or with
[grimm_reviews]), dark or light colors, and rotation speed. Turn each source on or off. - Optional: switch on Let customers leave a review on my website. Reviews are protected from spam and bots and only appear after you approve them.
Imported reviews can't be edited, so what visitors read is exactly what your customers wrote.
Reviews are optional. Nothing shows on your site until you add reviews, each source can be switched off on its own, and untick Show the reviews strip above the footer to hide the strip completely.
23. Facebook Shop
Go to Grimm Inventory → Facebook Shop, switch on the product list and copy its link. In Facebook Commerce Manager, add a data feed with that link on an hourly schedule, then create your shop with Checkout on another website. New items, price changes and sold-out items update in your Facebook Shop by themselves. The same link works in Google Merchant Center. Leave any item out with the checkbox on the item.
24. Visitor currency
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Settings → Currency for visitors and tick Show a "Prices in" chooser.
- Check Your prices are in (US dollar for most US sellers) and tick the currencies to offer (Canadian dollar, euro, pound…).
- Leave Pick for them on to start each visitor with their own currency, based on their browser's country setting. They can always change it, and their choice is remembered.
Converted prices are shown with "≈" and a note, because they're an estimate at today's exchange rate (European Central Bank rates, refreshed twice a day). Buyers still pay in your currency, or the marketplace's, at checkout. The chooser shows on your For Sale page and item pages; put it anywhere else with [grimm_currency].
25. News posts
A place to show off new work, restocks and announcements without cluttering your homepage.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → News and click Write a News post.
- Write a headline and your story, and set a Main photo. Add up to 9 More photos in the Photos & where to buy box.
- Pick the items the post is about. Their price and Buy on eBay / Etsy / Facebook… buttons show on the post automatically and stay up to date (sold-out items are left out). Add other links if you like, such as a 3D-file store.
- Optional: fill in the Excerpt (turn it on under Screen Options). It's the short version used on your News page and in social posts.
- Click Publish, or schedule it.
Your News page lives at /news/ (change the name and address under Social Sharing → News section). Add it to your menu with a Custom Link. To show the latest posts on another page, use [grimm_news limit="3"].
26. Share to Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Post once on your site and Grimm Inventory shares it for you: to your Facebook Page and Instagram the moment it's published, and to TikTok as a draft in your inbox. Every post uses your own words, your photos and where to buy the item.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Social Sharing. Tick the platforms you use.
- Facebook & Instagram: follow the on-screen steps to make a free Meta app (about 10 minutes), paste its App ID and App secret, click Save, then Connect Facebook & Instagram and allow your business Page (and its Instagram). If your app's menu shows Facebook Login for Business (most new apps), also create a login configuration there (General, User access token, the six permissions shown on the screen) and paste its Configuration ID before connecting. The app can stay in Development mode because you're its admin, so no app review is needed.
- TikTok: make a free app at TikTok for Developers with Login Kit and the Content Posting API, paste the redirect address shown, verify your site's uploads address under URL properties, then paste the Client key and secret and click Connect TikTok.
- Set your hashtags and the wording for each platform. Tags like
{title},{text},{buy}and{link}are filled in for you.
Sharing a post: each News post (and each item) has a Share to social media box. Untick a platform to skip it, write different wording if you like, and open Preview to see exactly what each platform will get. Publishing shares it. After that, the box shows a link to each post, and Share again posts it once more.
- Facebook: the post goes on your Page with all your photos and clickable "where to buy" links.
- Instagram: a single photo or a carousel of up to 10. Instagram doesn't allow clickable links in captions, so it lists where to buy and adds your "link in bio" note. Photos that are too tall or wide for Instagram get a plain border instead of being cut off.
- TikTok: a photo post lands in your TikTok inbox. Open TikTok, pick a sound and post it. TikTok only lets apps it has audited post publicly on their own, and picking a trending sound helps your reach anyway.
- Items for sale: items have the Share box too. Tick "share by default on new items" in Social Sharing if you want every new item shared. Items brought in by an import are never shared by themselves.
27. TikTok Shop (beta)
Sell on TikTok Shop with the same stock as everywhere else. This feature is new: it works the same way as eBay and Etsy, and it's marked beta until more shops have used it.
- Seller account: sign up at TikTok Shop Seller Center. In the US, choose Individual to register with your Social Security number and ID. Choose Business only if you have an EIN and business documents. Approval usually takes a few days. Then add a shipping warehouse address in Seller Center.
- App: in TikTok Shop Partner Center, create a custom app for your own shop with the Product, Order, Logistics and Authorization scopes. Set its Redirect URL to the address shown on the TikTok Shop tab.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Marketplaces → TikTok Shop, tick Use TikTok Shop, Save, paste the App key, App secret and Service ID, Save, and click Connect TikTok Shop.
- On an item, use the TikTok Shop box: Post to TikTok Shop (saved as a draft in Seller Center by default so you can add any details its category asks for), or paste the ID of a product you already have to link it.
Once linked, stock syncs both ways: a TikTok Shop sale lowers your stock here, updates eBay and Etsy and is recorded in Sales history (checked every 10 minutes, or click Check TikTok Shop sales now). Changes here update TikTok Shop's stock and price. Visitors see a Buy on TikTok Shop button when you add the product link in Where to Buy.
28. More marketplaces: Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Craigslist and Nextdoor
Sell on resale or local sites too? Switch them on and they work just like Facebook Marketplace in Quick Post. Only the sites you tick appear anywhere, so your screens stay tidy.
- Go to Grimm Inventory → Settings → More marketplaces, tick the sites you use and click Save Changes.
- Open an item. Its Quick Post box now has a tab for each site, and Where to Buy has a row for each.
- Click Download all photos (.zip), then Open … listing form. Copy the title, price, shipping, quantity and description into the marketplace's form. Counters warn you when the title or description is too long for that site.
- Publish it on the marketplace, paste the new listing's link into After posting, paste the new listing link here and click Update. Visitors now see a Buy on … button for that site.
When it sells there: click Sold one on … (−1) in that site's tab. Your stock drops on your site, eBay, Etsy and TikTok Shop update by themselves, and the sale shows in Sales history under that site. Remember to mark it sold or end the listing on the other Quick Post sites yourself.
| Site | Good to know |
|---|---|
| Poshmark | Titles up to 80 characters, descriptions up to 1,500. Also asks for a category, brand, size and original price. |
| Mercari | Titles up to 80 characters, descriptions up to 1,000, up to 12 photos. Pick the condition and a shipping option on the form. |
| Depop | The description leads the listing (up to 1,000 characters, including up to 5 hashtags). Up to 8 photos. |
| Vinted | Asks for a category, brand, size and condition. Vinted works out shipping for the buyer, so the shipping field is just for reference. |
| Craigslist | Local: choose your area and for sale by owner. Most buyers pick up in person; meet somewhere public. Posts expire, so a relist reminder helps. |
| Nextdoor | Only your neighbors see it. Tap Post, then Sell or give away. Good for local pickup. |
Why not post to these automatically? None of these sites offer a way for outside apps to create listings. Tools that do it anyway sign in as you and automate your account, which breaks those sites' rules and can get your account limited. Quick Post keeps your account safe and still takes about a minute.
Unticking a site hides it again. Links you saved on items are kept and come back if you switch it on later. The profit and fee table covers eBay, Etsy and Facebook for now. Sites change their limits and forms from time to time; if a form looks different, the copy buttons still work the same way.
29. Grimm Inventory Studio (for brand-new WordPress sites)
WordPress must already be installed. Studio doesn't install WordPress. It's a setup walkthrough built into the Grimm Inventory plugin (the same zip, nothing extra to download) that turns a brand-new, empty WordPress site into a ready-made store. If your site already has pages and posts, Studio stays hidden and never changes anything.
Before you start
- Install WordPress. Use your host's one-click WordPress installer (IONOS, Bluehost, Hostinger, SiteGround and most others have one). It installs the newest version of WordPress. Log in to your new site's dashboard.
- Install Grimm Inventory the normal way (see Install the plugin). Studio opens by itself. If it doesn't, go to Grimm Inventory → Studio setup.
The walkthrough
- Check: confirms WordPress is the newest version. If it isn't, Studio asks you to click Update WordPress first and won't continue until you do. It also checks PHP, https:// and the photo and connection tools your host needs.
- Your store: store name, a short tagline and your logo (also used as the browser-tab icon).
- Look: Midnight (dark), Clean (white) or Workshop (warm cream).
- Where you sell: tick your marketplaces and paste links to your shops.
- Build my store.
What "Build my store" changes on the new site
- Your For Sale page becomes the homepage.
- An About page is added for you to fill in, plus a menu with Shop and About.
- WordPress's sample post ("Hello world!") and "Sample Page" go to the trash (you can restore them).
- The theme's sample footer (links like "Blog", "FAQs" and "Authors" that go nowhere) is replaced with a clean footer: your store name, tagline and menu. To get the theme's original back, go to Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Footer and choose Reset. If you already changed your footer, Studio leaves it alone.
- Tidy web addresses are switched on (for example yoursite.com/for-sale/item-name/).
- Automatic updates are turned on for WordPress and Grimm Inventory, so your store stays secure.
- The dashboard is simplified (Posts, Comments and Tools are hidden).
- A small credit, "Grimm Inventory Studio Version · designed by Grimm Forge Studios", appears at the very bottom of your pages.
Nothing is deleted for good, and you can change all of it later. Grimm Inventory → Studio setup lets you switch looks, bring back the full WordPress menus, hide the footer credit or run the walkthrough again. Then add your first item, activate your license, connect your marketplaces and, if you like, show your marketplace reviews (see Customer reviews).
Already have a WordPress site with content? You don't need Studio. Install Grimm Inventory as normal and add the For Sale page to your menu (see Add the For Sale page to your menu).

Troubleshooting
- Item pages show "Page not found"
- Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes once without changing anything. This refreshes WordPress's links.
- My changes don't show up for visitors
- If you use a caching plugin (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed…), clear its cache.
- The photo download shows a list instead of a zip
- Your host doesn't have PHP's Zip extension turned on. The list still lets you save each photo. Ask your host to enable "ZipArchive" if you'd like the zip.
- A video link shows "Link only"
- That site doesn't allow its videos to be embedded on other websites. Visitors still get a "Watch video" button.
- The item page shows the main photo twice
- Some themes print the featured image themselves. Grimm Inventory hides it automatically; if your theme uses an unusual method, contact support with your theme name.
eBay troubleshooting
- "Duplicate Policy" when connecting
- Your eBay account already has a payment or return policy with the same settings. Grimm Inventory now finds and uses it automatically; click Re-check eBay policies. If eBay still refuses, rename your existing policy on eBay (Seller Hub → Account → Business policies) to exactly
Grimm Inventory - Pay now(payment) orGrimm Inventory - No returns/Grimm Inventory - 30 day returns/Grimm Inventory - 60 day returns(returns), then click Re-check eBay policies. Renaming doesn't affect listings already using it. - "Duplicate Policy" when posting an item (shipping)
- Your account already has a shipping policy with the same service, handling time and price. Grimm Inventory's shipping policies are named "GI", then the price, service and handling days. Rename or delete your matching shipping policy on eBay (only delete it if no listings use it), then post again.
- "Stopped: the eBay shipping policy named for $X charges $Y"
- A shipping policy with Grimm Inventory's name exists on eBay but charges a different price. Rename or delete that policy on eBay, then post again. Grimm Inventory stops rather than charge your buyer the wrong shipping.
- "Business policies aren't switched on for your account yet"
- eBay can take a few minutes to switch them on after the first try. Wait a few minutes and click Re-check eBay policies.
- Stock didn't change after an eBay sale
- Sales are checked every 10 minutes using WordPress's scheduler, which runs when your site gets visits. Click Check eBay sales now on the eBay tab. If it never updates by itself, ask your host to make sure WP-Cron isn't disabled.
Etsy troubleshooting
- "The Etsy connection service is not accepting other sites yet"
- Etsy is still reviewing the connection service for shops other than ours. It switches on without an update; try again later, or connect with your own Etsy app keys under Advanced.
- Etsy says the title or a tag isn't allowed
- Etsy titles can use the characters % : & only once each. Tags are up to 20 characters, letters, numbers and spaces, 13 at most. Grimm Inventory cleans tags for you and warns you about the title before sending.
- "This Etsy listing has variations"
- Listings with options (colors, sizes) keep their own stock and prices on Etsy. Grimm Inventory leaves those alone; update them on Etsy.
- It saved as a draft instead of going live
- That's the "Publish right away" setting being off. Open the item, tick Publish it on Etsy now and click Save & update Etsy listing, or publish it on Etsy.
- Stock didn't change after an Etsy sale
- Only paid orders are counted, every 10 minutes. Click Check Etsy sales now on the Etsy tab.
Social sharing troubleshooting
- "No Facebook Pages came back"
- When Facebook asked which Pages to allow, your business Page wasn't ticked, or you aren't an admin of it. Click Reconnect and tick it.
- Instagram says "not connected" but Facebook works
- Your Instagram account has to be a professional account linked to that Facebook Page. Switch it in the Instagram app (Settings → Account type and tools), link it to your Page, then click Reconnect.
- A permission error from Facebook or Instagram
- Check that the permissions listed on the Social Sharing screen are added to your Meta app's use case, then click Reconnect.
- TikTok says the URL isn't verified
- TikTok copies photos only from addresses you verified. In your TikTok app, under Content Posting API → URL properties, verify the uploads address shown on the Social Sharing screen.
- It was shared twice, or not at all
- Sharing runs once, in the background, right after publishing (WordPress's scheduler runs when your site gets visits). Check the Share box on the post for the result; Share ticked now retries anything that didn't work and skips what already did.
Removing the plugin
Deactivating keeps all your items. Deleting the plugin also keeps them unless you ticked Delete all items and settings when the plugin is deleted in Settings.
