Grimm Inventory Changelog

Changelog

The current version is 2.0.5. Every release, newest first. Licensed sites get each update with one click from their WordPress dashboard.

2.0.5 Latest
  • Studio: "Build my store" now replaces the theme's sample footer links ("Blog", "FAQs", "Authors"…) with a clean footer showing your store name, tagline and menu. A footer you've already changed is left alone, and the theme's original can be restored under Appearance → Editor → Patterns → Footer.
  • Studio: the finished screen and dashboard now suggest showing your marketplace reviews (optional).
  • Docs: clearer Studio guide (WordPress must already be installed; exactly what Studio changes on a brand-new site).
2.0.4
  • New: Grimm Inventory Studio is built in. On a brand-new WordPress site, a short walkthrough checks that WordPress is up to date (and asks you to update first if it isn't), then sets up your store name, logo, one of three looks and where you sell. It makes your For Sale page the homepage, adds an About page, turns on automatic updates for WordPress and Grimm Inventory, and simplifies the dashboard. Sites that already have content never see it.
  • New: a small footer credit ("This site uses Grimm Inventory System"), on by default. Switch it off under Settings → Look → Footer credit.
2.0.3
  • New: More marketplaces. Switch on Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Vinted, Craigslist or Nextdoor under Settings → More marketplaces. Each gets its own Quick Post tab (with that site's title and description limits), a Where to Buy row and "Buy on" button, one-click "Sold one" tracking, sales history and relist reminders. Only the sites you tick appear.
  • New: Quick Post shows a description character counter for sites with a limit.
  • Instagram: "Available on…" now lists only real places to buy. News posts with only your own links say "Links in our bio" (new setting under Social Sharing → Instagram).
  • Social sharing: long post text is trimmed at 1,200 characters (was 600) and ends at a paragraph or sentence instead of mid-word.
  • Fix: links for a marketplace you've switched off are kept when you update an item.
2.0.2
  • Social Sharing: works with Meta apps that use Facebook Login for Business (most new apps). Paste the app's Login configuration ID; step-by-step help is on the Social Sharing screen.
2.0.1
  • Fix: posting to eBay with USPS Ground Advantage failed with "LSAS validation failed". Grimm Inventory now sends eBay's code for that service.
  • Fix: picking an eBay category no longer shows its name in the Etsy box for a moment.
2.0.0
  • New: News. A News section for new work, restocks and announcements (its own page, never on your homepage unless you add [grimm_news]). Each post can show more photos, the items it's about with their price and "Buy on" buttons, and other links.
  • New: Social Sharing. Post once, share everywhere: News posts (and items, if you like) go to your Facebook Page and Instagram automatically when you publish, and to your TikTok inbox as a photo-post draft. Your own wording per platform, hashtags, where-to-buy links, a preview, and Share again. Photos are made Instagram-ready automatically. Uses your own free Meta and TikTok developer apps; step-by-step setup included.
  • New: TikTok Shop (beta). Link or create TikTok Shop products, keep stock in sync both ways, record TikTok Shop sales and show a "Buy on TikTok Shop" button. Off until you switch it on.
1.9.0
  • New: event reminder popup. In the days before an event (5 by default) visitors see your flyer (the event's "Event photo or flyer" image) once a day, or a simple "come see us" card if there's no flyer. Only the soonest event is shown, it says "We're here today!" during the event, and visitors can hide one event or all event popups. Turn it on or off in Settings → Events or for each event, and preview it from the event screen.
1.8.0
  • New: Etsy. Post items to Etsy with photos, description, tags, materials, category, processing time, return policy and your exact shipping price. Save as an Etsy draft to check first, or publish right away.
  • New: Etsy stock sync both ways. A sale on Etsy lowers your stock here, updates eBay, and is recorded in Sales history; changes here update Etsy. Sold-out items are paused on Etsy and turned back on when restocked (optional).
  • New: import your existing eBay and Etsy listings (Marketplaces → Import listings), with photos, price, shipping and quantity. Link a listing to an item you already have instead of making a copy.
  • New: imported eBay listings keep their quantity and price in sync too, and can be ended from the item screen.
  • New: Etsy reviews and your Etsy star rating are copied into the reviews strip every day.
  • New: visitor currency. A "Prices in" chooser (and [grimm_currency]) shows prices converted at today's exchange rate, marked ≈, and can start with the visitor's own currency.
  • Fix: saving a settings tab while eBay or Etsy is switched off no longer turns off their other options.
  • Security: the connection service never trusts a "this is the main site" claim over the web.
1.7.0
  • New: Marketplaces is now built in. eBay posting and two-way stock sync, profit & fees with a "minimum I want to receive" price helper, low-stock emails, sales by site, and package weight & size used to be a separate add-on; now it's all in one plugin with one license.
  • Upgrading from the add-on: it is switched off automatically and can be deleted. Your settings, eBay connection and sales are kept, nothing to reconnect.
  • New: eBay on/off switch (Marketplaces → eBay). Off hides the eBay box on items and pauses eBay sync; it's on automatically if you're already connected.
  • Fix: eBay "Duplicate Policy" during setup. If your eBay account already has a payment, return or shipping policy with the same settings, Grimm Inventory now uses it instead of stopping.
  • Clearer eBay setup messages, with a link to the step-by-step fix in the docs.
1.6.0
  • New: Facebook Shop product list. Publish every item for sale as a product feed that Facebook Commerce Manager (or Google Merchant Center) checks every hour, so new items, price changes and sold-out items update in your shop by themselves. Step-by-step setup included; leave any item out with one checkbox.
1.5.0
  • New: customers can leave a review right on your website. Protected against spam and bots (hidden trap field, time check, quick math check or Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limit, no links) with an optional confirm-your-email step. Nothing shows until you approve it, and approved reviews can't be edited.
1.4.3
  • Reviews: keeps rotating on themes that constantly signal a window resize (such as Experon's banner slider).
1.4.2
  • Reviews: rotate automatically (on/off and speed in settings); pause only while someone is reading.
  • Reviews: turn Facebook, eBay, Etsy and hand-added reviews on or off one by one, each with its own link, rating and number of ratings. The rating and the "Review on…" badge link to your reviews on that site.
1.4.1
  • Reviews: hides the broken-character mark Facebook sometimes leaves where an emoji didn't load.
1.4.0
  • New: Customer reviews. Copy your Facebook Marketplace seller reviews with one click (buyer reviews are never copied) and show them word-for-word in a rotating strip above your footer, with your star rating, number of ratings and a link to see them on Facebook. Imported reviews can't be edited, so visitors can trust them.
1.3.5
  • Facebook import reads sale prices and the shipping cost correctly, keeps the description to just your listing text, and skips photos of other people's listings.
1.3.4
  • "Check again" on Dashboard → Updates finds new Grimm Inventory versions immediately.
1.3.3
  • Events calendar: month names now always match the dates shown, whatever your site's timezone.
1.3.2
  • "Check again" on Dashboard → Updates now also checks for Grimm Inventory updates right away.
  • More reliable one-click updates.
1.3.1
  • Events: calendar files show line breaks correctly and list your booth as "Find me at".
1.3.0
  • New: License keys (Grimm Inventory → License). Activate your key once and get one-click updates for life in Dashboard → Updates.
  • One key works on one live site at a time; click Deactivate to move it. Test sites (localhost, .local, .test, staging, dev) don't count.
  • 14-day free trial. After the trial, adding and editing items needs a license, but your public site always keeps showing your items.
  • Events: links and buttons no longer pick up theme underlines.
1.2.0
  • New: Sales History (Grimm Inventory → Sales History). Every "Sold one" click is recorded with the site and price; see totals per marketplace, filter by date, record in-person sales by hand, and download a CSV.
  • New: Relist reminders. Grimm Inventory remembers when each listing went up and reminds you on the Dashboard (and optionally by email) when Facebook listings are ready to renew.
  • New: Photos for marketplaces. Downloads are resized (2000px by default), and you can add your logo as a watermark with a "Download with watermark" button.
  • New: Save Etsy tags once per category; Quick Post's Etsy tab fills them in with a 13-tag counter.
  • New: Import from Facebook. A one-click browser bookmark copies a Marketplace listing (title, price, description, photos) into a new item.
  • New: Events. Add craft fairs and vendor markets with dates, hours, venue, address, booth, map, Google Calendar and "Add to my calendar" links, and show them with the "Grimm Inventory Events" calendar block, [grimm_events] shortcode or widget.
1.1.0
  • Quick Post box on every item: open the Facebook Marketplace, eBay or Etsy listing form, copy title/price/shipping/description with one click, download all photos as a numbered zip, paste the new listing link back in.
  • "Sold one on Facebook/eBay/Etsy" buttons that lower stock and record where it sold.
  • Description footer and optional link back to your site, added to every copied description (Settings → Quick Post).
  • Video links: paste a YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok or Vimeo link and click Add; it checks the link and shows a thumbnail. Links that can't be embedded become a "Watch video" button.
  • Duplicate an item from the item list.
  • Getting started guide on the Grimm Inventory screens.
1.0.2
  • Buttons and cards no longer pick up theme link underlines.
1.0.1
  • Price, photos and buy links now sit right under the item name.
  • Visitors see a friendly message when the carousel has nothing to show.
1.0.0
  • First release: items, gallery, buy links, grid, carousel block/shortcode/widget, stock tools.
